About

🐾 Hi, I’m Robert — and welcome to The Staffy Club

Staffy owner sitting on a bench with two Staffordshire Bull Terrier pups and an older Staffy outdoors.

This is my corner of the internet for Staffy parents who want honest advice from someone who actually gets the breed.

My partner and I share our lives with two Staffordshire Bull Terriers — Codi and Reo — littermates raised together from tiny pups to the big characters they are today.

Naturally, raising two brothers goes against what the internet says. (If you search “can you raise Staffy littermates together?” you’ll see why.)

We had an advantage: for their first year, we also had a senior Staffy, Flash, who helped shape their behaviour. But of course, the pups still caused chaos — chewing, digging, skirting boards, zoomies, all of it.

What you’ll find here isn’t generic dog advice — it’s Staffy-specific guidance shaped by living with this breed, for years.

🔍 Why This Site Exists

If you’ve ever researched Staffy behaviour, training, toys, or care, you’ll have noticed:

  • tons of generic dog advice
  • very little Staffy-specific advice
  • and plenty of myths, judgement, and misinformation

Staffies are affectionate, loyal, sensitive, intelligent, occasionally dramatic, occasionally stubborn — and often misunderstood.

🔗 Staffordshire Bull Terrier Traits: What They’re Really Like!

So I built The Staffy Club to help owners with things that actually matter:

  • calming over-excited pups
  • choosing toys that last
  • exercise ideas for high-energy Staffies
  • teaching manners and impulse control
  • reducing nuisance behaviours early
  • picking the right gear (coats, boots, harnesses, paw balms, etc.)
  • creating the calm, structured upbringing Staffies thrive on

✅ How This Site Exists

If I recommend something, it’s because I’ve used it, tested it, or I know it genuinely suits the build and temperament of Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

We’re partly community-funded — and I like being transparent about that.

When researching for our own dogs, we found that so many “dog advice” sites online are run by big media companies, pretending to be breed specialists. Their goal is to sell whatever’s trending.

I decided to take a different route:

Yes, I use affiliate links —
but only on products that work for Staffies specifically, not whatever pays the most.

Honest, Staffy-focused guidance first.
Income second.

🎯 My Approach (and what you can expect here)

I write everything from two starting points:

1️⃣ What actually works for Staffies

Not theory. Not clickbait.
Just methods and tools that consistently work for Staffy bodies, Staffy minds, and Staffy energy levels.

2️⃣ What real owners deal with

Jumping, pulling, whining, chewing, zoomies, over-excitement, overly friendly greetings, not-so-friendly greetings, separation struggles…
I’ve dealt with all of it.

If there’s a calmer, easier, more Staffy-appropriate way to handle something, you’ll find it here.
